SN 150 base oil is a light grade mineral base oil that belongs to the Group I category, produced through solvent refining of crude oil. The “SN” refers to Solvent Neutral, while “150” indicates its viscosity level, which is around 32–34 cSt at 40°C. It appears as a clear, pale yellow liquid and is widely valued for its balance of viscosity, stability, and blending characteristics. With a viscosity index of about 95, a flash point near 200°C, and a pour point between –6°C and –9°C, SN 150 is suitable for various industrial and automotive applications. It serves as a fundamental raw material in the production of lubricants, transformer oils, greases, process oils, hydraulic fluids, and metalworking fluids. Due to its excellent oxidation stability and good compatibility with additives, SN 150 is often blended with heavier base oils like SN 500 to achieve desired performance in lubricant formulations.
